To implement the movement to develop an environment for learning and using foreign languages in practicality and effectiveness as well as to help administrators, teachers, staff and students promote their competence in English communication, Bao Loc High School for the Gifted held a launching ceremony for English speaking week with the theme: A Glance at Ao Dai on October 23, 2023.
Attending the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Vu Minh Tu, Party Cell Secretary, the school principal gave a speech about the importance of English and called on all teachers, staff, and students of the school to actively participate. At the launch of English Speaking Week, Ms. Pham Thi Mai Anh, Head of the English group, also presented activities in the 2023 - 2024 school year related to developing the ability to use foreign languages in general, English in particular.

The launching ceremony of English Speaking Week took place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere. The whole school enjoyed a vibrant Flashmob dance performance from 10th-grade English students and a performance and presentation about Vietnamese Ao dai through seven periods of time including Giao Linh Ao dai, Tu Than Ao Dai or Vietnamese long dress of 4 flaps (17th century), Ngu Than Ao Dai or the five-flap Vietnamese long dress (Gia Long Dynasty, 1802-1820), Lemur Ao dai (1939 – 1943), Le Pho Ao dai (1943 –1950s), Raglan Ao dai (1960 – 1970) and Traditional Ao dai (1970-present). Sharing feelings about the Vietnamese Ao dai, Ms. Le Thi Ha, a teacher of Chemistry said: "The Ao dai is a cultural beauty of Vietnamese people in general, and Vietnamese women in particular. Ao dai helps highlight the graceful and seductive beauty of women." The students were also impressed by the performance and reported that they gained more knowledge about the history of Ao dai and loved this cultural beauty more and more. Nguyen Hoang Minh, a 10th grader majoring in Biology, shared: "During the performance by my teachers and friends, I learned more about Vietnamese Ao dai throughout history. We are proud of it. I think this beauty needs to be preserved and promoted.” The launching ceremony ended meaningfully with the song "Hello Vietnam" by 11th English graders.
It can be said that the launching ceremony of English Speaking Week with the theme A Glance at Ao Dai of Bao Loc High School for the Gifted received enthusiastic support and participation from the teaching staff and all students. Hopefully, this joyful and exciting atmosphere will spread and the movement to develop foreign language skills in general and English use in particular at Bao Loc High School for the Gifted will significantly improve.
